Tracey’s Childminding Service

Tracey’s childminding has been established for 10 years, situated in a detached private home in West Totton, conveniently located close to the Totton bypass and Ringwood road, local parks, community areas and schools.

The setting is registered to provide care for up to 6 children under the age of 8 years.  Care for over 8’s is also provided.

Children at the setting will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities arranged to provide discovery, stimulation and enjoyment.  Your child will develop confidence, social skills and independence within a friendly, supportive, homely and welcoming environment.  Your child will have the opportunity to develop close friendships with their peers and your child will have the security of a familiar, trusted and supportive carer.

Activities and outings are planned to encompass the six areas of learning for the foundation stage identified by the department of education.  These ensure a varied, balanced mix of the six areas:

  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication, Language and literacy
  • Mathematical Development
  • Physical Development
  • Creative Development

But most of all activities and outings are planned to be FUN.

Activities for younger children will take into consideration the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ framework.  The framework values and celebrates babies and children, recognises that all children have from birth a need to develop, learning through interaction with people and exploration of the world around them.

Tracey has been childminding since 1997 and is  part of a quality assured childminding network.  All network childminders have to meet additional standards above what is required by OFSTED.  The last inspection was during May 2007 when the setting received an outcome of ‘outstanding’.

Tracey has achieved the following qualifications

  • ICP
  • DCP
  • ECP – These 3 qualifications make up Cache Diploma in Childcare and Education
  • NVQ 3 in Early Years Care and Education
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate and Food Hygiene Certificate and also several training courses including special needs and educational planning.
  • Is currently working towards Working with children in the early years, which is part of the Foundation Degree in Early years through the Open University.
